Transcript of letter from WHC to the Seaford Town Council, 25/9/01

25th September 2001

Mr. L. Fisher, Town Clerk Seaford Town Council, Hurdis House, 10 Broad Street SEAFORD, East Sussex, BN25 1ND

Dear Mr. Fisher,

Further to your letter in respect of the Chapel at St. Mary's, I am now in a position to forward a structural report from the Property Manager.

Mr. Dixon's recommendations are clear, however there has been no finite decision taken in respect of the future of the Chapel.

If, however, the ultimate intention is to dismantle the Chapel please be assured that the contents, including the memorials, will be appropriately placed in the local community and as far as possible their final location will be notified to interested parties.

I will be out of the country until 16th October but would be more than happy to discuss this matter with you further on my return.

It is important to me that this piece of local history is managed in the most sympathetic way, bearing in mind all aspects of safety and moral sensibility.

Yours sincerely
