King's Mead Chapel Windows appeal The Chapel Windows In October 2002 vandalism was increasingly apparent in the King's Mead school buildings and in ith the help of the Seaford Museum, the stained glass windows of the chapel were removed. These, it appears, are the only known surviving examples of a particular design from the William Morris workshop entitled "Christ preaching from the ship" (thought to have been painted by Titcomb). In order to preserve them for posterity they were mounted in a wooden frame and are now on display in the Museum alongside chapel windows rescued from St Peter's School. The cost of this, 820, was temporarily covered at short notice by relatively large donations and/or loans from a very small number of Old Boys. We would now like to use this opportunity to ask other Old Boys to make contributions to help cover this. |
